Speedway Star have been conducting their USA Knoxville Nationals tour for over 35 years and have hundreds of Australian (and New Zealand) Speedway fans on a trip of a lifetime.
Speedway Star USA Motorsport Tour
Speedway Star have a very exciting tour lined up for the 2018 USA Month of Money.
Our main tour will depart Sydney on July 19 Indianapolis. We will join any tour members that left Sydney on July 11 for the Kings Royal weekend of racing.
We will spend 10 days in Indianapolis watching the USAC Sprintcars compete in the gruelling Indiana Sprintweek. You will see the best 410 wingless Sprintcar action in America at Gas City, Kokomo, Lawrenceburg, Terre Haute, Lincoln Park and Bloomington and also see the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and take a look at this real racing town.
After Indy we will take a short trip on Route 66 and at this stage we will take in the World of Outlaw Late Models. Next is the two day World of Outlaw Ironman 55 Sprintcar show at Pevely. We attend the Ralph Capitani Classic at Knoxville, Terry McCarl’s Front Row Challenge at Oskaloosa and the highlight of the trip the 2018 Knoxville Sprintcar Nationals. The Nationals is a good way to finish your racing trip but an optional visit to Las Vegas and Los Angeles on the way home caps off a perfect racing adventure. The full 36 day tour includes 18 races and the best sightseeing available.
This year’s 27 days tour is priced at $7995* with the 9 day Kings Royal options at an extra $1500pp. So the full 36 day tour is a very reasonable $9495.00.
Apart from the unbelievable racing…and you will be blown away by the racing in the USA, Wayne Meyer will also get you into places that can’t be accessed otherwise. His contacts from 35 years on racing trips enabled us to get into places like an Indy team shop in Indy for an up close look at the workings of an Indy car team. We visit the shop of legendary Midget Champion Mel Kenyon, whose 50-year career is just about unparalleled. Mel is a hell of a nice guy, and his stories of winning USAC Championships, racing the Indy 500 and racing in Australia and New Zealand were the stuff of legend, straight from the horse’s mouth. Tony Stewart quite often will open the doors of his Sprintcar and Silver Crown Facility for Wayne’s tour group. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is a must. You never quite know what you’ll end up doing – Golfing with USAC’s Dick Jordan, Go-Karting with America’s best race drivers or lunch with Brooke Tatnell – anything is a possibility.
Speedway Star pride themselves on a value for money tour, where tour members see the best racing and sightseeing available at a price that is very reasonable.
Despite the reasonable price, Speedway Star do not cut any corners, our accommodation is usually 4 Star (Holiday Inn or similar) and usually includes hot breakfast. We use rental cars or mini vans with four or five people in each, we don’t use 12 seat mini vans, which can be uncomfortable and limit what tour members can do in their free time and you do get some free time to relax or go exploring at your own pace. Wayne Meyer is your tour escort, you can just sit back relax and have the time of your life. Wayne arranges all transport, Motel check-ins and getting you to the track or daily activities.
